Who we are
cad-lisp.com is a trading name of WWW.CAD-RESOURCE.COM LIMITED, a private limited company registered in England and Wales, company number 06121953. Our registered office is 320 Firecrest Court, Centre Park, Warrington, WA1 1RG. Our VAT number is 903445739.
We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.
You can contact us about anything in this policy by email at , by telephone on , or by WhatsApp on .
What we collect, and why
When you contact us. Our contact form asks for your name, email address and, optionally, your telephone number, along with whatever you choose to tell us about your requirement. We use this only to respond to you and to discuss the work you are asking about. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our services.
When you send us drawings or program files. To quote for work we usually need to see a drawing file, an existing AutoLISP routine, or both. We treat everything you send as confidential. We use it only to assess, quote for and carry out the work you have asked for. Our lawful basis is the performance of our contract with you, or the steps you have asked us to take before entering into one.
When you buy from us. We keep a record of the work commissioned, what was delivered, and when it was paid for. Our lawful basis is the performance of our contract with you, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.
Automatically, when you visit. Our web server records the usual technical information — your IP address, the pages requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. We use this to keep the site working and to protect it from abuse, including rate-limiting and blocking abusive sources. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and available.
Cookies
Essential cookies. We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to work and to remember your cookie choice. These do not require your consent and cannot be turned off.
Analytics cookies. With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, so we can improve it. This sets cookies that record a randomly generated identifier, the pages you visit and how you arrived. We do not set these unless you accept them. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected.
You can change your choice at any time using the link in the footer. Google acts as our processor for this data; you can read Google's own description of how it handles it at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
We share it only where we have to in order to run the service:
- Our hosting provider, who operates the server on which this site and our email run.
- Our payment providers, when you pay for work. Card details are handled entirely by them and never reach us — we see only enough to know that a payment succeeded and what it related to.
- Professional advisers and HMRC, where we are required to keep or produce accounting records.
Where your information is held
Our servers are in Germany. Our backups are encrypted and held with a cloud storage provider whose facilities are outside the UK. Where information leaves the UK, we rely on the safeguards required by UK data protection law for those transfers.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become work — 12 months from your last contact with us.
- Files you send us for quoting — 12 months from the quote, unless the work goes ahead.
- Files and records relating to work we carry out — six years from the end of the relevant financial year, which is the period we are required to keep business and tax records for.
- Server logs — a rolling period of approximately 12 months.
The periods above apply to our live systems. Our backups are taken automatically and retained on a rolling schedule of up to three years, so a copy of something we have deleted — whether at the end of one of the periods above, or because you asked us to — may persist in an encrypted backup until that backup expires in the normal cycle. We do not use backup copies for any purpose other than restoring the service after a failure.
How we protect it
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. Files you send us are stored outside the public area of the web server, so they cannot be reached from the internet. Access is limited to those who need it to do the work. Our backups are encrypted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected if it is wrong, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object and we will stop unless we have compelling grounds not to.
To exercise any of these, email . We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113. We would rather you came to us first so we can put it right.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If the change is significant and we hold your details, we will tell you.
